Lacrosse is known as

”THE FASTEST SPORT ON TWO FEET”.

The Dexter High School Men’s Lacrosse team .completed its fifth full season last spring and finished the inaugural season for the Woman’s High School Lacrosse team. There were also new 7th/8th grade and 5th/6th grade boys teams. We now have 6 teams, including High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Men’s and Women’s teams. More athletes are choosing Lacrosse as their spring sport.  Next season we start Boy’s 3rd/4th grade and Girl’s 7th/8th grade teams.

The MHSAA sanctioned Boys Lacrosse and began statewide championship tournament play in 2005. Since then, there has been an explosive increase in the number of Michigan high school teams, as well as the total number of athletes participating in the sport statewide.

Lacrosse is unique among most of the options that young athletes have when they are looking for opportunities to play a team sport at the high school varsity level. While some sports reward players having exceptional height or bulk strength, lacrosse emphasizes athleticism, agility, speed, and stamina, without regard for the players’ size and stature.

High School boys play their home games on the DHS campus, on the field located south of the tennis courts. High School girls play their home games on the DHS campus, on the field located east of the tennis courts. Youth teams play their games on the Bates campus.

So check the schedule – the atmosphere is terrific – you won’t want to miss a minute of the action – after all, this is the FASTEST SPORT ON TWO FEET!! But don’t just come to see a game… come to see THE GAME — Dexter Lacrosse!!!
